CHICAGO--(Business Wire)-- Statmon Technologies Corp. (OTC BB: STCA) a software application and solution provider for broadcast, wireless and telecommunication infrastructure is pleased to announce that Belo Corp. (NYSE: BLC), one of the nation's largest publicly-traded television companies and long time client of Statmon Technologies is set to deploy Statmon's recently released LPM(R) ratings data monitoring application "ACCURATE" (TM pending) in 15 television markets over the next 18 months.
ACCURATE is designed to improve the management of television ratings data in conjunction with Nielsen Media Research's local people meter (LPM) rating system and will provide the Belo stations the ability to continually be aware of the status and accuracy of their Nielsen LPM data as seen by the actual viewer thus protecting their representation in the ratings and directly protecting revenue.
ACCURATE monitors all pertinent elements of the decoded data and executes alarms (both audible and visual), notification (email, test, and voice), as well as logging of all discrepancies from onset to resolve (validation and proof of the discrepancy for presentation to Nielsen Media Research to assist with ratings corrections).
ACCURATE is based on Statmon Technologies core application AXESS and leverages the network communications infrastructure of AXESS to enable both local station management, research, and engineering as well as corporate management, research and engineering personnel to monitor by interface to ACCURATE either directly or via their existing AXESS group wide deployment.
Mr. Ken Dillard, Executive Vice President - Broadcast at Statmon Technologies, said "We are delighted that Belo Corp. has commenced implementation of ACCURATE for their stations. The management team at Belo immediately saw the economic benefit ACCURATE provides on a station by station basis. Belo operates AXESS at 20 television stations in 15 markets and their technology management team certainly understand how to leverage the operational benefits of AXESS and economic benefits of ACCURATE on a market by market basis."
Mr. Wayne Kube, Director of Technology, Broadcast Systems, Belo Corp. said,"When Statmon informed us about ACCURATE, we saw the benefits of being able to monitor the Nielsen LPM(R) codes from over-the-air, cable, satellite and other sources at a single location within the station. This enables the station staff to quickly identify problems with the data, if they occur. Belo has had a long relationship with Statmon, and we are pleased to continue that with ACCURATE."
